How does custom sizing work at Tamazi?
The process is simple and transparent, in four steps:
1. Choose a design, Browse the colorful Azilal rug models presented above. Each model shows the pattern style, colors and overall aesthetic of the rug. Select the one that matches your interior and your taste.
2. Specify your dimensions, On the product page of your chosen model, select the desired size for your rug. Length and width at your convenience, adapted to the exact dimensions of your room. No standard size imposed — you decide.
3. Artisanal manufacturing in Morocco, Once your order is confirmed, we pass it on to our partner artisans in the High Atlas. Manufacturing begins on a traditional wooden loom. Your rug is woven by hand, knot by knot, thread by thread, in natural sheep's wool. Allow 10 to 14 weeks for manufacturing and delivery.
4. Inspection in Toulouse and shipping, Once completed, the rug is shipped to our premises in Toulouse (Fonbeauzard), where we carry out a thorough inspection: dimensions, weaving quality, conformity to the ordered design. If everything is in order, the rug is shipped to your home. If we identify a defect, we have the rug remade — you only receive quality.
What you need to know before ordering
A custom Berber rug is a handcrafted product, which involves a few specific characteristics to be aware of:
Patterns and colors are proposed by Tamazi, You choose a design from our existing models, then customize the dimensions. The artisans will reproduce the style, spirit and color palette of the chosen model. Since each rug is woven by hand with a degree of creative freedom, the result will be approximately 80–90% similar, faithful to the model, but never 100% identical. This is precisely what makes each rug unique and authentic.
Dimensions may vary by ± 10 cm, Artisanal weaving on a traditional loom does not allow for centimeter-precise accuracy. The final dimensions of your rug may vary by plus or minus 10 cm from the ordered dimensions. This is a normal characteristic of handcraft, not a defect. If this tolerance is an issue for your space, allow a small margin in your measurements.
Fringes are present on both sides, The stated dimensions do not include the rug's fringes. They will be present at both ends (length), adding a few extra centimeters to the total length.
Lead time of 10 to 14 weeks, This lead time covers manufacturing in Morocco, shipping to our warehouse in Toulouse, quality inspection and final delivery to your home. The lead time may vary slightly depending on the size of the rug and the time of year.

How to measure correctly for a custom rug
The success of a custom rug depends largely on the accuracy of the dimensions you provide. Here are our recommendations:
Measure the available space, Use a tape measure and measure the exact area where the rug will be placed. Note the length and width in centimeters.
Apply the frame rule, Allow a visible floor border of 30 to 50 cm between the edges of the rug and the walls. A rug that extends to the walls gives the impression of fitted carpet; a floor border showcases the rug.
Think about the furniture, In a living room, the front legs of the sofa should rest on the rug. Under a dining table, allow 60 cm of rug behind each chair when pulled out. In front of a sofa, the rug should extend 20 to 30 cm beyond the coffee table.
Allow for artisanal tolerance, Final dimensions may vary by ± 10 cm. If your space is constrained (between two walls, under a built-in piece of furniture), order 5 to 10 cm less than the maximum available dimension to avoid a slightly larger rug not fitting.
